Christopher J. Aran was born in New York City in 1980. Since then he's moved in and out of New Jersey and tried countless career options. None of which have given him the satisfaction that the power of filmmaking brings.
Writing stories since he could hold a pencil, he's attended three different colleges, the final being the "School Of Visual Arts" in New York. There he earned his Bachelors of Fine Arts and completed his first 16mm Short "Waiting."
Soon after, he wrote and directed his second film "One Day in January" which toured the festival circuit and was nominated in three categories including Best Director, and Best Short Drama.
His most recent work includes a Documentary titled "Smoothini" which profiles one of NYC's talented underground Magicians, and two music videos for theBREAX, a christian hip-hop group hailing from Southern California.
Chris has also spent over 5 years out of college working as a freelance Camera Assistant and filling various roles in the Grip and Electric department on a myriad of projects from music videos and corporate videos, to short, and feature length films. (IMDB) He has also DP'd several documentaries.
His next step is the realization of several feature scripts that have been completed or are development in various genres. Chris' future goals are to direct films that not only entertain us, but hopefully inspire and move us as well.
